Late Start Day Information

The 2018-2019 school calendar has been approved, which includes four late start days for professional development. These days will accommodate collaborative opportunities and training that will enhance our district’s teaching practices and improve the instruction our students receive. These days fall on Wednesdays, with students starting school at 9:45 a.m.

The Horizon Kids Before and After School Program is a licensed program through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and can accommodate additional elementary children on the late start days as long as our staff to child ratio is not at capacity. Staff to child ratio will be evaluated throughout the school year in order to accommodate additional children on “late start” days.
